2013 The Hairy Eyeball Ale (Lagunitas Brewing Company)

Style: American Strong Ale 9.4% ABV 56.66 IBU’s From: Petaluma, CA Brewer’s Note: “Laying there, staring up at the ceiling, head pounding, last night was a dim recollection. How did he get home? Was he alone? Looking to the left and right, the answer was yes, maybe. His head was full of ’rag water, bitters, and the blue ruin’.His teeth felt like he’d been chewing … Continue reading 2013 The Hairy Eyeball Ale (Lagunitas Brewing Company)

Undercover Investigation Shut-down Ale (Lagunitas Brewing Company)

Style: American Strong Ale (Imperial Mild/ Uber ESB) 9.7% ABV From: Petaluma, CA Brewer’s Note: We brewed this especially bitter ale in remembrance of the 2005 St Patrick’s Day Massacre and in commemoration of our 20-day suspension that followed. We got … Continue reading Undercover Investigation Shut-down Ale (Lagunitas Brewing Company)

Style: American Pale Wheat Ale 7.5% ABV 64.20 IBU   The bottle is a classic Lagunitas bottle with the red lettering, the green company name and the dog hiding at the bottom.  The “summer girl” lounging on the letters is a nice touch, and the red “Un” added to the “Limited Release” on the side of the label is quirky and cool.  The label seems … Continue reading A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale (Lagunitas Brewing Company)

Tango Wilco Foxtrot (Lagunitas Brewing Company)

Bottle:  A fairly simple design, though I like the paper used for the labels with its thick graininess.  With its plain cream color and dog symbol, which is present on all Lagunitas bottles, I don’t get the feeling of anything special, and not really something I would display on the shelf.  Boring type and simplicity. Appearance: Pours a carameled brown, with a nice thick yellow … Continue reading Tango Wilco Foxtrot (Lagunitas Brewing Company)
