Wigglesworth Traditional Ale Series: Welkin Ringer (Mystic Brewery)

Style: Extra Special Bitters 5.8% ABV From: Chelsey, MA The beer’s label is sleek and spophistcated.  It is also exactly the same as the other Wigglseworth beer and as such I will just say that I like it, though it is a little cluttered and I would like some text on this unique beer instead of just about the series.  The beer pours a rich, caramel … Continue reading Wigglesworth Traditional Ale Series: Welkin Ringer (Mystic Brewery)

Collaboration No. 3 (Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project and Boulevard Brewing Company)

Style: Stingo English Style Sour Ale 8.5% ABV 35 IBU’s Color (EBC): 76   The bottle has old classy vibe emanating from it, which I love.  It reeks of the classic Kansas City style found on auction posters and handles of whiskey, and which Boulevard has wonderfully and appropriately adopted as their style.  I always love a good corked beer and the labeling on the … Continue reading Collaboration No. 3 (Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project and Boulevard Brewing Company)

Old Thumper (Shipyard Brewing Company)

Style: Extra Special Bitter 5.6% ABV   I love the boar theme of this bottle.  The boar head on the main label and the cap, and the running boar on the neck are all great touches that give the beer a hunting-feel.  The fonts are a little cluttered but are all great font choices, and the color scheme of the beer with red blue, gold, … Continue reading Old Thumper (Shipyard Brewing Company)

King Goblin (Wychwood Brewery)

As I said about the HobGoblin bottle (Also from Wychwood Brewery) I love their bottle designs.  The whole Brothers Grimm-esque thing really works and makes an exciting bottle.  The Goblin in his little Legend of Zelda hat looks similar to the awesome goblin on the label of Hob Gobiln, and the great scrolls that show the beers title and explanation are cool and dark purple.  … Continue reading King Goblin (Wychwood Brewery)
