Bottle: This bottle is similar to any other Smuttynose bottles. A pink title bar with a sky blue neck color. The main picture is blurry, in the Smutty-style, and is attempting to replicate late ‘50’s/ early ‘60’s picture of a lady on a float in a pool. The bottle summarizes summer nicely I suppose, but overall it seems to be rather bland.
Appearance: Pours a hazy straw yellow with a decent off-white head and thick white and drooping lacing. Lots of bubbles racing to the top which suggests a nice carbonation.
Smell: The smell tingles the nose slightly, with a good yeasty stench working its way through the wheat and a hoppy bite appearing on the back of the smell.
Taste: Initial taste is sharp with piney hops, but mellows out into a wheat and sweet flavor.
Mouthfeel: This beer is harshly bubbly on the tongue with a harsh bite also coming from the hops. The afterfeel is smooth and clean with only a slight lingering of the harsh initial “bang.”
Overall: I’m not a fan of this beer. I would label it as a fruity-rumpus beer. The beer is mediocre for its type, but is simply meh. A little too harsh in the mouth, and a little too bland in flavor.
